About us
Our Story
Faradays Electrical (PTY) Ltd was established in Cape Town on the 22 November 1945. Michael Hurwitz bought into this company in May of 1953 and the name was changed to Faradays Radio and Electrical Engineers (PTY) Ltd.
From here we expanded; doing all types of electrical installations as well as public address systems. Faradays operated from a shop in Lower Main Road, Observatory, selling radios and various spares.
His son, Allan, joined in 1974 and took over the running of the business in August 1983. Allan is still currently involved in the day-to-day operation of the business. Over time, Faradays Electrical has opened branches, firstly in Johannesburg, headed by Danny Talhami and later in Durban, Port Elizabeth and in Mossel Bay and now headed by Jaun Hoffmann as Managing Director.
The company has also contracted selected persons to represent us in smaller towns making us truly national.
We have been of service to the Pick n Pay group since their inception, specializing in their point of sale and computer installations. We have been involved in most of their store refurbishments and new store developments country wide supplying all electrical and data installations.
Our Approach
We passionately believe in supporting charities to make a genuine difference in the lives of those in need.
Our hearts beat with compassion, extending our care from animals to humans. Every single act of support, no matter its scale, acts as a powerful catalyst for positive change. It encapsulates the essence of our shared humanity—kindness and generosity flowing from one heart to another. We firmly believe that each contribution, no matter how modest, echoes our commitment to creating a world where empathy and support thrive, uplifting every life they touch.
