Both stores underwent full electrical revamps that elevated their appearance, functionality, and customer experience — showcasing the craftsmanship, coordination, and brand alignment that define Faradays’ retail installation expertise.
Project Overview
Cell C Zevenwacht
At Zevenwacht Mall, the team began by completely stripping out the existing electrical installations, removing all plug points and lighting from the trading floor. Fresh installations were then completed in line with Cell C’s approved and updated electrical drawings. Every new component — from power outlets to ceiling-mounted lighting — was positioned with exact precision to suit the new retail layout.
Cell C Galleria
At Galleria Mall, the project involved the full strip-out of previous installations to prepare for the new design. The team re-chased walls and floors to install new power and data feeds supplying counters, sales desks, display areas, signage, and lighting — including all decorative lighting elements. This revamp fully aligned with the refreshed visual identity Cell C is rolling out in its stores.
Technical Execution
- Zevenwacht:
The biggest challenge was accurately setting out all first-fix conduits before shopfitting commenced. Every conduit had to be placed perfectly to align with the final layout — demanding careful planning, laser accuracy, and commitment to Cell C’s standards. - Galleria:
Frequent technical changes introduced by the client required quick adaptation. Thanks to consistent communication and close coordination, the team implemented every change correctly and without delay.
Delivering a Clean, Concealed & Modern Finish
Across both stores, achieving Cell C’s signature clean, modern aesthetic required:
- All conduits to be concealed within walls and ceilings
- Absolutely no surface-mounted conduits
- Coordinated installation with shopfitters and lighting suppliers
- Precision alignment of lighting, skirting, and power points
- Exact adherence to lighting layouts supplied by Cell C
The result: smart, clean & compliant electrical installations that support both the visual identity and operational efficiency of Cell C stores.
Managing Power, Data & Lighting Requirements
- Zevenwacht: Cell C supplied all lighting equipment; Faradays handled installation and all power distribution with strict attention to specification.
- Galleria: Faradays handled wireways, conduits, and skirting installations. Data was not part of the electrical scope, but all power and lighting components were flawlessly integrated.

With two different teams operating in two different regions:
- Galleria: Leon, Dirk, and Samukelo
- Zevenwacht: Lionel, Shane, and Yongama
Both teams navigated fast-paced retail timelines by maintaining:
- Continuous site visits
- Daily updates to all stakeholders
- Constant communication with shopfitters and subcontractors
- Full alignment to Cell C brand requirements
Previous experience on the Cell C N1 City store prepared both teams to deliver rapid, seamless execution.
When challenges arose — particularly regarding the iconic orange “goal post” lighting feature in Galleria — the teams resolved them quickly, ensuring the final installation remained accurate and visually striking.
Compliance & Quality
Zevenwacht:
- All electrical installations on the trading floor were completely redone
- Back-of-house systems were inspected, tested, and updated
- Final installations passed CoC requirements seamlessly
Galleria:
- Full CoC tests conducted with all stakeholders present
- Test results logged with photographic evidence
- Snags identified and resolved immediately during installation
Across both stores, Faradays delivered installations that were fully compliant, thoroughly tested, and ready for safe operation.
